Google Wave now in the capable hands of the Apache community

I actually liked the concept behind Wave. A few of you even joined me in a couple of projects connected on Wave. My biggest hopes for Wave were to use it to collaborate with The American Liberty Alliance, a conservative information group, to collaborate on Social Media Edge radio with the regulars and co-host, and to confer with other organizers of Social Media Breakfast in other towns.

A couple weeks ago, Google made a proposal to the Apache Software Foundation to take the reins on Wave. Wave, which only launched to the public in 2009, saw lackluster adoption; Google officially halted development in August and open-sourced the code in September.
